Beswicks find new US soccer star - Teal Bunbury

The Beswicks sports team's commitment to the USL is proving a success, as one of its young players, Teal Bunbury, became the first son of a former MLS player to play in the same league.

Soccer America's 2009 Collegiate player of the Year, and Hermann Trophy winner,  Teal was the number four pick by the Kansas City Wizards in the 2010 Superdraft which took place in January.

The Canadian youth international's father, Alex,  a former West Ham player, ended his playing career with the Wizards, and has supported his son since he first showed an interest in the game.

Gary Mellor, of Beswicks sports team, identified Teal's potential whilst he was playing collegiate football at Akron.  "We believe Teal has a huge career ahead of him, and not just in the MLS. He has the potential to be world-class.   He is a natural goal scorer, and will surely follow in his father's footsteps by becoming a fully fledged international player."
